INTRODUCING DR. ELLIOT REGENBOGEN: Our New ENT Specialist

We are very pleased to announce that Elliot Regenbogen, MD, in January 2009 joined our faculty as assistant professor of surgery in the Division of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. His expertise in laryngology and general otolaryngology complements the strengths of our existing ENT faculty.

Dr. Regenbogen comes to Stony Brook from Westchester County, where he has been practicing general otolaryngology for the past 17 years. He also served as chairman of the Otolaryngology Department at Northern Westchester Hospital for the past eight years.

In addition to general otolaryngology-head and neck surgery, Dr. Regenbogen’s practice at Stony Brook includes a focus on advanced diagnosis and treatment of voice and swallowing disorders. His training included a preceptorship at Japan’s Kurume University Hospital under Dr. Minoru Hirano, one of the founders of modern concepts in laryngology, as well as collaboration with Dr. Wilbur J. Gould and Dr. Stanley Blaugrund at the Ames Vocal Dynamics Laboratory of Lenox Hill Hospital in New York. Dr. Regenbogen has published research articles in laryngology and acoustic analysis of voice, as well.

Dr. Regenbogen’s clinical practice also includes the diagnosis and treatment of chronic sinus conditions, postnasal drip, nasal obstruction, allergy, loss of smell and taste, reflux esophagitis, snoring, hearing loss, and ear infections.

Board certified in otolaryngology, Dr. Regenbogen obtained his MD in 1986 from Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where he subsequently completed his residency training.
