| Camp for Kids is a campaign sponsored by the members of the Transplant Team of the Division of Transplantation Services at University Hospital and Medical Center, Stony Brook, N.Y.
There are many children of Long Island who suffer from kidney disease. It was f elt that a short stay at summer camp would be beneficial to a child on dialysis both emotionally and physically. The purpose of the campaign is to send underprivileged Long Island children suffering with renal disease to a summer camp experience at the Frost Valley YMCA camp.
|

WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE? The Camp for Kids Campaign revolves around the saving and collection of aluminum can tab tops. The tab tops can be found on soda, juice, snack and pet food cans. Just save the aluminum can tab tops. Call the Division of Transplantation Services at 631-444-2209 and a member of the transplant team will tell you where and how to drop off the tabs you have collected. That is all you need to do. Once the tabs have gone to the collection site the team from Transplantation Services takes care of the rest. Money collected from the tops will be used to send as many children as possible to the camp. |
