SURGICAL SELECTIVES: UROLOGY
Preceptor
Dr. Schulsinger
Objective
To introduce the student to basic clinical aspects of urology.
Responsibilities
The student will participate in clinical rounds, operating room procedures and the interviewing and examination of patients in the office setting. Didactics will include journal club, uroradiology and uropathology conferences, and weekly grand rounds in urology. The motivated student may also present an interesting case that the medical student participated in during his/her rotation.
Schedule
First-day meeting place: Page Dr. Bhalla, chief resident (276-5103), in the morning. Depending on the day, the student will be either in the operating room, clinic or on the floor taking care of inpatients.
Evaluation
Students are evaluated by residents and attendings. These evaluations are based on clinical performance, i.e., participation on rounds, conferences and office interactions.
