OPERATIVE EXPERIENCE
Based on the past year's surgical statistics, each resident can reasonably expect to be actively involved in more than 250 operative cases per year, supervised at all times by a member of the full-time or voluntary faculty. It is the resident's responsibility to keep an up-to-date record of his or her operative experience and to submit a copy of this record to the Resident Coordinator at the end of each rotation. Cases are then tabulated and kept as part of the resident's permanent record. The table below summarizes the average operative experience during 2007–08 for each resident at a given level.
