APPLICATION INFORMATION
Qualified U.S. medical school graduates will be accepted for interview through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) upon completion of their medical school training.
Successful completion of Parts 1 and 2 of the United States Medical Licensure Exam (USMLE) is required by July 1 for employment to commence at the start of the academic year.
We will not be considering international MD graduates for PGY-1 training for the 2010–11 academic year.
Appointments to the first year (PGY-1) of surgical training are made through the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP). Applicants for the second year of training and beyond must have completed the required prerequisite year(s) of surgical training.
We are registered with ERAS. Applications will only be accepted through this system. Graduates should keep in contact with their student affairs or other designated dean's office.
Our USMLE cutoff score is >220 on first attempt.
Deadline for receipt of all completed applications (PGY-1 and all other years)—for consideration for interview—is November 6.
Interviews are scheduled after review of the completed application. Please call 631-444-1791 with any questions concerning your application to Stony Brook. Correspondence/email concerning the application process should be sent to:
