The Womens Health Initiative Study of Cognitive Aging (WHISCA) is a clinical trial of the impact of HRT on cognitive functioning of women 50-65 years of age. The goal of this project is to collect longitudinal data on cognitive aging in WHIMS volunteers and the primary objectives are: to assess the efficacy of HRT to protect against age-associated memory and cognitive longitudinal decline; and to assess whether the addition of progesterone to estrogen modifies the effects of estrogen on memory and other cognitive abilities.
