Research Gift Program Established

The Stony Brook University Hospital has begun a targeted giving campaign that enables donors to help further our research activities. Gifts can be presented in tribute to a health professional or research scientist, in memory of a friend or loved one, or simply as a show of support in the fight against a specific disease. Gifts have been received for the following research areas:
AIDS Alzheimer's
Arthritis Asthma/Pulmonary Disease
Breast Cancer Cancer
Center for Molecular Medicine Diabetes
Emergency Medicine Environmental Studies Heart disease
Infant, Children and Adolescent Disease Infectious Diseases
Lyme Disease OB/GYN
Prostate Cancer Stroke
Surgery
Upon receipt of a donation, the Development Office notifies the honoree, the family of the deceased or the designated person in whose name the gift has been contributed.
As we approach the first anniversary of the program, it is gratifying to note that S30,000 in small gifts ($10, $25 and $50) has been received.
With the holiday season so soon upon us, you may like to think about your participation in the Research Gift Program. You can send a gift as part of your year-end charitable contributions and support the difference Stony Brook University Hospital makes in the fight against disease. Your gift can take the form of a tribute, a memorial or holiday greetings to a friend, a colleague or a relative. To quote a noted Long Islander, Billy Joel: "Charity begins at home!"
Click here to donate by check, or pick up one of the Research Gift Program folders found around the hospital. If you need additional information about the Program, please call the Development Office at 444-2899.
